So what's a million dollars over your lifetime?:

bullet1 beautiful home plus a summer home!
bullet4 private AIRPLANES & license!
bullet35 new CARS!
bullet83,000 cases of BEER!
bullet170,000 FRAPPACINOS!
bullet...or the ability to send 10 children to college!

...but nearly half of you aren't going to complete your degree!

Research shows that nearly 46% of students entering a 4 year degree program will not graduate. What are the causes of college drop-outs and what can you do to increase your chances of success?

Even worse, many of you who will graduate with a degree will not have the skills and abilities to compete for the top jobs in your field.

Employers are reporting that college graduates lack the basic skills and abilities they need to compete effectively in the global business marketplace. What are they looking for?

bulletSelf-motivation & discipline
bulletLeadership skills
bulletEffective time management
bulletCuriosity and ambition
bulletAbility to work with a team
bulletProblem solving skills
bulletAbility to work without excessive supervision
bulletPreparation skills
bulletInitiative

What's the problem?

bulletThe average American college student is reporting that he or she can earn A and B level grades while studying only 15 hours a week outside the classroom.
bulletStudents report a disconnect with instructors who are more focused on research than teaching.
bulletMany students feel they're simply not challenged.
bulletInstructors report increased pressure to lower standards and assure retention resulting in less-engaging classroom interaction.

Ever wonder what you're going to do when you graduate? Ever wonder if you're going to graduate? Ever wonder why you're even doing it?

A message from Jim Bouchard:

You want me to be nice, or honest? I'll assume you said honest!

You're blowing one of the greatest opportunities in your life! If you're not taking full advantage of the college learning experience you're wasting your time, your money (or your parent's money) and you're squandering an opportunity many people would die for!

I know! I blew it!

Like many of you I wasted my college opportunity. I started off with an A average in my freshman year; then I allowed myself to become disengaged, I partied, I skipped classes and starting blaming my boring instructors for not motivating me. Eventually, I dropped out...twice!

After years of struggling to make my way in life and business without a college degree I developed the skills and abilities I needed to succeed. I also realized that I squandered the opportunity to develop these skills by wasting my college experience.

Can you succeed without a college degree? I have to say yes; I did. I also know that if I had taken full advantage of the developmental experiences I wasted in college I would likely have met most of my goals years ago, and I would be much further along in my life today.

The biggest regret I have in my life to this day is that I never earned my college degree.

I did eventually earn a degree, in fact I earned several degrees, in martial arts. My martial arts career helped me learn the values of discipline, motivation, perseverance, leadership and courage that helped me succeed and create the Dynamic Components of Personal POWER. You have the opportunity to develop all these qualities now in your your college career.

Now you said you wanted me to be honest, right?

The only person responsible for your success, in college or anywhere else is you!

The sooner you learn that the earlier you'll develop the skills and abilities you need to succeed. Embrace the process of self-perfection and you'll unlock your full talents and potential; now and for the rest of your life.

A college degree significantly increases your earning potential. More important you have nearly unlimited access to knowledge, experience and resources that are seldom truly appreciated until you hit the mean streets!

I bring a fresh perspective to college success. I'll tell you my story with all the ups and downs, from the "glamour" of life on the road to the challenges of competing without credentials against those with a degree.

Perfection is not a destination; it's a never-ending process. The happiest and most successful people in the world understand and embrace this process. Embrace this process now and make the absolute most of your college experience; that's how you generate the power to change the world!

"Jim is an amazing person , as his impressive resume would indicate, and graciously agreed to come speak to our kids about the ways they can improve their lives through positive thinking, goal setting, prioritizing and reflective thinking, leading to greater personal power.

"Jim says 'Some people confuse power with aggression or control. Power is about fulfilling our nature and using the abundance  of our human potential. If you really want to benefit others, cultivate your own personal power.' Sound familiar? Hyde School and Jim see eye to eye on the importance of developing student's confidence and their sense of control over their destiny."
